Maya Hernandez is a senior and this is her third year on staff. Outside of photography her passions include avoiding finishing any of the paintings that she’s ever started on, decorating her room with as many cute, small objects as possible and buying any item of clothing that’s in a fun color. She’s looking forward to telling stories through her photos and to a great year on staff!

Enrollment at Marcus is predicted to drop to less than 3,000 students by 2022 and then 2,650 students by 2027. LISD Superintendent Dr. Kevin Rogers said the enrollment is dropping because families are staying in the area.

Students got to hold husky puppies in the library the morning before finals. The puppies were brought in by English teacher and Texas Husky Rescue Foster Director Meghan Regent. Students could pay five dollars to hold the puppies, and the proceeds would go towards their medical bills.

In addition to raising money for She Supply, junior DECA member Nikhita Ragam works with and fundraises for the UNICEF club. She also partners with the Dallas Holocaust Museum to raise awareness about anti-semitism and hate crimes.
