Volleyball creeps past Lake Highlands

Marcus volleyball played against the Lake Highland Wildcats last Friday night. The first point was scored for Marcus’s varsity team mere seconds into the game by junior Regan McGuire. Several other points made by junior Michelle Toro and senior Lauren Douglass followed the first. The score rounded off to 25-19, Marcus.

 The second game started off with a lead from Lake Highlands. Marcus slowly crept its way up with several points made by junior Madi Ashmore, sophomore Samantha Sales and her sister, senior Lindsay Sales. But Marcus did not creep fast enough, and the score for game two ended at 14-25, Lake Highlands.

   For varsity’s third game of the night, Marcus maintained a steady ten points ahead of Lake Highlands. With several point-scoring plays made  by senior Kelsey Pry and several other players, the score rounded out to 25-10, Marcus.

  The fourth game started off with close scores. With more points scored by Douglass and several others, Marcus made its way to the lead. McGuire scored the final point of the night, and Marcus won the concluding game 25-22.

  JV Silver tasted victory after their first two matches last Friday, winning 25-16 the first game and 25-18 in the second. Similarly, JV Red took the court by storm by winning 25-14 the first round and 25-19 in the second.

The next home game is Tuesday September 13 against Flower Mound at 7:00 P.M.
