The Marauders beat the Irving Tigers 65-32 on Tuesday night at the boy’s varsity basketball game. It was the team’s seventh win of the season.
The Marauders got an early lead after going on an 11-0 run in the first quarter. Senior forward Ryan Vaughan started strong and scored 7 points. The team ended the first in the lead 15-7.
Senior guard Garrett Walters made two 3-pointers in the second quarter, while sophomore guard and forward Christian Weddington made plays around the rim all night, including highlight-reel dunks. The Marauders pulled ahead 33-13 to end the first half.
The team continued to force the Tigers into tough shots while making layups and occasional 3-pointers throughout the second half. This style of play is ultimately lead the Marauders coming out on top.
The Marauders will take on Irving Nimitz tomorrow night at 8 p.m. in the MAC.
