Texas Gubernatorial candidate Beto O’Rourke stopped in Denton on Sept 7 as a part of his “Drive for Texas” campaign. The Denton Civic Center was filled to capacity but still, hundreds of supporters waited in the heat to hear him speak.

During the rally, O’Rourke was asked what he would tell high schoolers who said they felt their vote didn’t matter to which he responded by looking at the history of change.

“Historically young people have always been the change makers,” O’Rourke said. “And I think they still are.”
