GoFundMe supports senior’s family with hospital bills

Bridges’ family friend Annamarie Brown started a GoFundMe to help with Lankford’s hospital expenses.

Like many area families, senior Elyssa Bridges’ family is battling COVID. Her stepdad Adam Lankford is currently in the hospital in critical condition with COVID-19.  Bridges’ family friend is hosting a GoFundMe to cover his hospital fees.

Bridges has been posting the GoFundMe on her social media and asking for prayers. She said she was surprised to see the community support and donate to the GoFundMe.

“I didn’t realize how many people were so understanding and willing, especially kids in band,” Bridges said. “I grew up in California, in an area that wouldn’t be so kind and understanding. So it’s crazy to come out here and see so many families support.”

Currently, the family has raised $4,830 out of their $8,000 goal. Several family members and friends have commented words of encouragement and love.

Those who are interested in providing direct support to Bridges’ family can donate to the GoFundMe. They can also pay for restaurant gift cards through Meal Train.
