The girls’s varsity volleyball team has a 17-19 record overall so far this season.

“The weakness is that there are a lot of new people out there that weren’t out there last year,” head coach Jennifer Cron said. “With that comes a new experience for everybody.”

On the other hand, having five seniors is a strength that brings a lot of knowledge and heart to the team, Cron said. Other players on the team have been equally as valuable, as Coach Cron said she considers junior Darby Humphries to be the most improved player on the team.

The team has lost to Hebron 0-3 and beat Lewisville 3-0. Lewisville and Hebron are among two of the toughest opponents in the district, junior Rochelle Friedewald said. The team won the last two games of playoffs, placing second in the district.

With wins over Justin Northwest, LD Bell, Grapevine and Arlington Martin in post-distrcit playoffs, there is only one game until the season ends. They will play against Coppell at McMurry University on November 12.
