Senior pitcher Emerson McKnight struck out eight batters and allowed just one hit over seven shutout innings to lead Marcus to a 1-0 win over Coppell on Tuesday, April 22, to help the Marauders move atop the District 5-6A standings.

Marcus, 21-8 overall and 7-2 in district play, moved into first place with Tuesday’s victory and Flower Mound’s 5-4 loss to Hebron.

A district title and playoff seeding are at stake headed into Friday’s home game versus Coppell in the regular season finale; Marcus has a one-game lead over Flower Mound (20-10), who will host Hebron.
