Fresh face: Meet new AP Rebecca Clark

Assistant principal Rebecca Clark joins the Marcus staff this year, hired to take the place of Ms. Lewis who is now acting principle at Lamar Middle School. Clark will take on last names Hi-L and is located in A101, previously the attendance office. Clark said she feels very welcomed by the friendly student body.

After graduating a year early from Grapevine High School, Clark went on to study at the University of North Texas, and then studied at Dallas Baptist University for graduate school.

“I knew that I wanted to be an educator at a young age,” Clark said. Administration and leadership have always appealed to her. In high school, she was a member of student council. At one time she was even an officer. Also during her high school years, she participated in basketball and softball.

Clark says that she is not a morning person, though once she gets up and going she’s ready to take on the day. Her pet peeves include bad spelling, people who drive slowly in the left lane and people who don’t read through their emails and ask questions regarding it later. “I’m pretty much an open book,” she says.

Clark is big on the importance of working together, especially in the light of the new technology policy. She sees LISD’s new policy as an opportunity for students and teachers to cooperate both inside the classroom and out.
