The long and winding road: an update on Flower Mound construction

The+long+and+winding+road%3A+an+update+on+Flower+Mound+construction

Construction on many of the main roads in Flower Mound has been unavoidable for the past three years. In April, construction started on Dixon Lane, beginning with the tearing down of the canopy of trees. Since then, a new drainage system has been built underneath Dixon and two lanes of the four-lane road have been finished, but it doesn’t stop there.

Dixon will now be a concrete four-lane road, improving the intersection at 2499 and matching the rest of the road at Chinn Chapel. The entrance at the Highland Ranch shopping center has been pushed back, allowing traffic to flow more smoothly in and out of the area. The contract for construction on Dixon is due to be finished in February 2012, and it’s on schedule.
