Summer Showings

Summer is just a few weeks away and it only makes sense that you take some time during your break to relax. From action to rom coms, there are a variety of movies hitting the big screen this summer. If you’re looking for a laid back time with friends, make sure you grab a ticket from the local AMC and sit back enjoy some of the films coming to a theater near you this summer.

Just seven days after students are set free from the constraints of high school, dinosaurs will also make a break for it in “Jurassic World”. On June 12, audiences will once again be able to experience the repercussions of men trying to make dinosaurs into a theme park attractions in this action packed movie. In this movie, you will be able to experience the thrill of being chased around by giant prehistoric creatures while sitting comfortably in a theater with a bucket of popcorn and 3D glasses perched on your nose.  Featuring the “Guardian of the Galaxy” star, Chris Pratt, this movie will be sure to have you on the edge of your seat the whole time.

If you’re looking for something a little less thrilling and more heartfelt, make sure you find yourself in one of those red velvet seats on June 18 for Pixar’s newest movie, “Inside Out”. Like many Pixar movies, this film will help you get in touch with your emotions as it explores and personifies everything a person can feel. The cast for this film is mind blowing, featuring Amy Poehler as Joy, Mindy Kaling as Disgust, and Bill Hader as Fear.  Since the world premiere in Cannes, France, this movie has already gained an abundance of praise.

John Green’s book turned movie, “The Fault in Our Stars”, left many in an emotional puddle by the time the credit rolled. If you think you’re prepared to experiences that type of catharsis once more, John Green’s latest movie adaptation, “Paper Towns”, will begin showing on screens July 24.  This romance adventure follows high school senior Quentin Jacobsen (Nat Wolff) and his group of friends as they set off on a trip to solve the mystery that is Margo Roth Spiegelman (Cara Delevingne). As you sit down in the theater to see this movie, you’re going to want to make sure you have a group of your closest friends as well as some tissues nearby. Tears will be shed at this movie will be sure to take you on an emotional rollercoaster.

Are you still recovering from “Avengers: Age Of Ultron” and have already marathoned through the netflix original ‘“Daredevil”? Do you still not have enough of Marvel universe in your life? Well you’re in luck because the remake of “Fantastic Four” will be showing on Aug 7. The movie that tells the origin story of these unique super heroes will be filled with explosions and actions as they have to learn how to work together to save the world. Staring a fairly young, but talented cast, this movie will be putting some faces on the big screen that you will want to keep up with such as Miles Teller and Kate Mara.

 

 

If you’re looking to get in some laughs before returning to school, make sure you find yourself in a theater for “Masterminds” on Aug 19. This comedy follows a ragtag team of bank robbers who are attempting to pull off the biggest bank heist in American history.  For this film, “Saturday Night Live” alums Kristen Wiig and Jason Sudeikis join comedy legends Owen Wilson and Zach Galifianakis to ensure that you will be laughing the whole way through.Masterminds Movie (2)
